The lo-fi prince shares new Lynch-Esque music video for “On The Square”, taken from upcoming fourth studio album Here Comes The Cowboy.
Following on from the personal themes explored on Mac’s 2017 album This Old Dog, watch below as the Canadian songwriter appears to delve even deeper into his conscious psyche:
Appearing centre stage in what looks like something taken directly out of David Lynch’s horror-cult-classic Eraserhead, Mac, along with collaborator Tommy Midnight take on the form of what can only be described as alien/animal hybrid-type creatures in this truly surreal and visually bizarre new video.
It could be entirely metaphoric or just a great piece of visual art, either way this dark 3-minute fantasy was directed by William Sipos and Sean Campos and it comes just a few days before the release of Mac’s latest album, Here Comes The Cowboy.
“On the Square” is taken from Here Comes The Cowboy, Mac DeMarco’s fourth studio album available Friday 10th May.
