THE BACK STORY: Taking their name from a car registration plate and Tinder playing a role in their formation. Manchester’s URF are a female fronted psychedelic – shoegaze juggernaut

Having already supported The Brian Jonestown massacre, Estrons, Matt Hollywood, Bloody Knees and a prestigious slot at last years Green Man festival. Born into the new alternative music scene little over a year ago, the band compromises of Abbi Parcell (Vocals/Guitar), Scott Woodcock (Guitar), Sophie Erasmus (Synth/Keys/Backing Vocals), Jack Biggs (Drums) and Ben Pratley (Bass Guitar) have self released “Athena” and their “For the ride” EP last year.

Their artwork is inspired by their own ambience, setting the platform for which their music sits. Creating an infectious spiralling wall of beautiful noise underpinned by shuddering bass lines and driving rhythms, sweeping synths against piercing guitars finished off with knock out vocals setting them apart from their contemporaries. Latest single “Solitude” which they describe as “an expression of the uncertainty of contemporary life and the often-cynical thoughts that occur within it.”
