IDLES release live video ‘GREAT’: ‘at Le Bataclan’

Closing in on a huge year for British punks IDLES, the group have released a video to support their new live album (A Beautiful Thing: IDLES Live at Le Bataclan), out today. The group have shared a sweat drenched, live clip of their song ‘GREAT’ to support the record. Talbot starting in a painful looking headstand.

Out today on limited double LP in three different colors, this wont be one to miss. The record comes with a booklet designed by lead Joe Talbot. He includes photography from the show and some personal selections of poetry. A nice way of closing in on an era consisting of a Mercury Prize nomination, an Ivor Novello award and a top 5 UK album. Arguably the live record really showcases the bands skill better than a studio record ever could. The energy is outstanding.

In choosing which show to record, Talbot quotes: “Our show at Bataclan was the end of a very long journey for us. On that tour we learnt so much about ourselves, each other and the audiences we have grown with over the past 10 years. That show was nothing short of catharsis and nothing more than love. We love what we do and the people who have carried us here, there was no hiding that at Bataclan and we are so very grateful that the moment was captured in all its glory, love and fatigue. Long live the open minded and long live the moment.”

The video itself is pure rock and roll. A wonderful way for IDLES to close 2019.
