The second release from Avoidant Records by Scottish-based producer PinballSpider

PinballSpider released Circuit Breaker EP

Avoidant records delve further into the electro-sphere, further expanding what promises to be a meticulously curated repertoire in the near future. This may only be the second release, the first being that of berlin-based CYRK with their Doppler Spectroscopy EP but even so it’s obvious that the Glasgow based label have hit the ground running and not only that, they’ve managed to maintain the momentum with an equally exquisite second release. This time from Scottish based producer PinballSpider and the Circuit Breaker EP. Aptly named, the EP is an exploration of glitchy rhythms, contorted bass lines and sci-fi undertones. The titular track on the EP is a perfect blend of jarring vocal cuts, snapping rhythms and a hefty twisted bassline, heavily Drexciya inspired it’s the perfect opener to the EP. Following this is Authority Bubble which features an intense use of percussive elements blended with knotted synths to create an intelligent dance floor workout, the heavy sub-bass line is the perfect accompaniment to the almost paranoid percussive elements. Lastly, the EP closes with the dreamesque Smoke Contract with features exceptional drum programming paired with early rave inspired vocal cuts producing a track that’s strangely euphoric. PinballSpider and Avoidant records are definitely ones to watch and we’re excited to see what they both produce next.
