TOM MISCH AND YUSSEF DAYES TEAM UP FOR WHAT KINDA MUSIC TOUR

AFTER THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF THEIR JOINT ALBUM, ‘WHAT KINDA MUSIC’ THE DUO TEAM UP FOR A TOUR IN MAY

After the exciting announcement of their collaborative album, What Kinda Music, Tom Misch and Yussef Dayes have announced a tour in support of the release. It comes as a somewhat exclusive tour with only two UK dates – the London-based singer songwriter and jazz drummer will be performing at London’s Alexandra Palace and Manchester Cathedral on May 12 and May 13, after they play dates in Berlin, Paris and Amsterdam.

The album is set for release on April 24 via Blue Note Records. The genre bending album is a dream collaboration for a lot of people, and shows one that unites two artists of quite different disciplines. Their music moves fluidly through a maze of genres; progressive jazz, hip-hope, electronica and so much more as their specialities are fused together to make something beautiful.

Though their pairing may seem slightly more unusual than most, Misch and Dayes have undoubtedly clicked in the creation of this record. Misch says, “Yussef comes from a more experimental background, and he has a lot of loose, crazy ideas. I know how to write a catchy melody, but with interesting chords and I have a good understanding of popular song forms, so I think I streamlined those ideas and made them accessible.”
