The Backstory: Birthed out of the humble working-class city of Hull, Chiedu is undoubtedly one of the hottest urban rap outfits coming out of the northeast at this moment in time.
Currently making huge waves across the U.K’s booming grime scene, his latest dancefloor banger ‘Darcy’ boasts over 1.6 million plays on Spotify’s streaming services, and has become an anthem heard across university halls pre-drink sessions up and down the country. Chiedu is also the figurehead of his own collaborative output known as ‘Lock Down’, wherein he hosts an array of live events and sports his own brand of Lock Down merchandise – a testament in how to adequately self-promote as up and coming independent artist. He performs alongside DJ ‘Joe The Third’ and Producer/MC ‘Deezkid’ who all came together upon hearing Chiedu’s early mixtapes. Chiedu recently collaborated with fellow Hull artist Steve Cobby – formerly of the legendary electronic duo Fila Brazillia – who come together with the funky hip-hop tune ‘Door Down’, available to stream now on all digital platforms.
