Singer-songwriter Tim Arnold to release ‘Send More Light’

Singer-songwriter Tim Arnold is set to release a new single entitled ‘Send More Light’. Released on November 10th 2023, the single is said to be a compatriot during the coming Winter months. Inspired in part from what he learned as a practicing Buddhist, Arnold’s tune will coincide with the Winter Solstice. He says he will release seven versions of the track, describing it as “an art project aimed at promoting peace, unity and light.”

He has pledged to offer 50% of all sales to the Peace Pledge Union. Furthermore, the releases will be accompanied with artwork pieced together by by Brighton based artist Kate Alderton. A member of a Buddhist community for twenty years, Arnold recently released Super Connected, which was met with critical praise from several established publications. Inspired in part by his autism diagnosis, the album is also a criticism of sorts of the importance of technology. “I play most of the instruments on Super Connected but the album is a collaboration” he informed Penny Black Music.“Jonathan Noyce (Jethro Tull bass player) created the synth soundscapes and played bass on some of the tracks. Virtuoso Jonathan Hill played all the string parts and I was lucky to have three extraordinary drummers.”

Arnold is known for his work with drummer/director Kevin Godley. Together, Arnold and Godley directed Soho Is, a documentary centred on the London area. Pieced together as a memento of sorts, the film features talking head interviews from Stephen Fry, Robert Elms, Jools Holland,  Marc Almond, Paloma Faith, Terry Gilliam and others. Fry talks candidly about his love of the area in the film, as it navigates their efforts to overturn plans of property owners, as well as people involved in the Transport of London.

‘Send More Light’ will be released on all digital platforms, Friday 10th November, 2023.
