‘This is my only fear: that we become beautiful people’
Ed and Khalid struggle with the beautiful standard that is set by LA and how the expectations are too much to handle. They celebrate that by being themselves, they don’t fit in and how if being classed as beautiful involves this fake and dangerous facade, then they don’t want to be that kind of beautiful. Layered with vocal octaves the chorus is certain to lilt in mind, although the lyrics will be lost on many for those who are truly listening, they will hear the plea for a change in today’s societal standards of ‘beauty’.
It seems like the new upcoming ‘No. 6 Collaborations Project’ is going to consist of urban inspired beats and lyrical fuck yous to expectations that society places on us – which we also had a taste of in the ‘I don’t care’ single with Justin Bieber. This track really sets up this coming project to be the newly inspired music some felt we’re missing from the releases up to now.
