IDLES have announced a huge UK and Ireland tour in May and June 2021. The tour will be the band’s biggest to date and includes two shows at London’s O2 Academy Brixton.

IDLES’ third album, ULTRA MONO, is set for release on 25 September 2020, and fans will no doubt be excited to hear the record brought to life. The band kick things off with two shows at Glasgow’s Barrowland on 7/8 May before shows in Newcastle, Cardiff, Birmingham and Sheffield the following week. IDLES will then play back-to-back nights at Dublin’s Vicar Street before a show at the O2 Victoria Warehouse in Manchester on 20 May. The tour concludes with two shows at London’s O2 Academy Brixton on 18/19 June.

Pre-ordering any copy of ULTRA MONO from the IDLES website before 10pm on Tuesday 25th August will grant fans access to the pre-sale, which begins at 10am on Wednesday 26th August. Tickets will then be available on general sale from 10am on Friday 28th August.

IDLES’ most recent single release from ULTRA MONO is ‘Model Village’, with frontman Joe Talbot expanding on the meaning behind the song recently: “I hated growing up in a city that was really a town that was really a fishbowl. I left as soon as I could, only to realise the fishbowl didn’t exist… just the fish, and they’re everywhere.”

The track is due to get its first outing this weekend, with IDLES hosting a series of three live performances from Abbey Road. The gigs each have a unique setlist and will be recorded and streamed live. Tickets to the streams can be purchased from the band’s website
